Group grows garden vision

A long-held community vision is coming to life in Northchurch, as the St Mary’s Garden Group (part of EcoBerko) takes the next steps towards transforming the unusable front playground of St Mary’s Primary School into a vibrant garden for everyone to enjoy.

Guided by feedback from the school and wider community, the group is working with local garden designers to develop plans for a welcoming haven for both people and wildlife.

The design will include wildlife-friendly native planting, accessible paths and spaces for relaxation, learning and community activities, turning the site into a green focal point for the village.

With strong local support and some initial funding already secured, the group is exploring the necessary planning steps and is continuing to seek local funders, businesses and residents who would like to help.
