A treat for book lovers
Anyone interested in books and writing is in for a treat at the 13th BeaconLit Book Festival, taking place in Marsworth Millennium Hall on Saturday 11 July.
The event, which raises funds for Beacon Villages Community Library, has made a name for itself as a high quality festival with an intimate villagey atmosphere, loved by readers and authors alike.
Bestselling crime writer Erin Kelly, bestselling romance author Sue Moorcroft and award-winning saga writer Liz Harris will feature in in-depth live interviews. The lineup of literary talent also includes a crop of new names, already critically acclaimed and tipped for the top: Amman Brar (Mr Sidhu’s Post Office), Madeline Dunnigan (Jean) and Natalie Gregory (Mother, Ghost, Mango Seed).
If you’re looking for something just a little different, there’s a ‘Genre? What Genre?’ panel, including Ilona Bannister (Five) and Stephanie Bramwell-Lawes (Thornby Manor). Acclaimed author Joanna Miller (The Eights) hosts.
The programme is completed by the popular ‘BeaconLit a la carte’ slot, with a choice between a writing workshop with Pippa Brush Chappell and a poetry circle with Zoe Brooks, Karan Chambers and E P Jenkins discussing and reading from their work.
There will be a bookshop and refreshments.
Early bird day passes at £26 are on sale now. The price rises to £35 on 1 June, when half-day passes also go on sale priced £20.
