A Year of Celebrations

Living Magazines St Peters Church Berkhamsted

A year of celebrations is planned to mark the 800th anniversary of St Peter’s in Berkhamsted.

Father Stuart Owen told Berkhamsted Living: ‘St Peter’s has been at the centre of the life of this town for eight  centuries. We look forward to celebrating that wonderful legacy with you in 2022.

‘There are two strands to our plans. We’re going to ‘Celebrate Berkhamsted’: we live in a town that is full of groups  and societies doing all sorts of wonderful things, and we’re throwing our door open to that great diversity of groups and inviting them in to stage concerts, put on exhibitions, organise lectures, whatever seems most appropriate. The  second strand is ‘Berkhamsted Celebrates’: we’re going to put on a programme of events that has something for absolutely everybody in the town.’

In more good news, 2022 will see the Petertide Fair return on Saturday 2 July. And look out for news about the  launch of a photography competition, which will invite entries on the themes of ‘Berkhamsted’ and ‘Celebrations’.

You can keep up with plans on Twitter and Instagram, both @berkhamsted800. And of course we will be keeping up  with the news here at Berkhamsted Living and on our website.
