Acquisition of Aitchisons Residential by Ashtons

Two of the most experienced and reputable Hertfordshire estate agency brands join forces.

Aitchisons Residential offices in St Albans and Berkhamsted have just been acquired by Hertfordshire-based estate agency Ashtons.

The deal sees two of the most trusted and established Hertfordshire brands join forces. Both operating in commuter locations outside of the M25 within the A41-M1-A1 corridor, Aitchisons have successfully been trading since 1935 and will now join the Ashtons team of 100 dedicated property professionals, operating from four existing locations.

Aitchisons Residential has previously sat within the Aitchison Raffety Group, which will remain focused on growth within its core commercial and professional activities. Group Chairman, David Goodchild commented: ‘Our commercial and professional business has grown rapidly in recent years, now employing over 100 people nationwide. The decision to focus on this core activity has allowed us to find a brilliant partnership with Ashtons for our residential business. The transaction also allows both parties to work strategically together on the crossover between professional and estate agency services, particularly in the land and new homes market.’

Both Karl and David have independently acknowledged that this deal is a win/win situation for all.
