Aldbury May Fair
Bank Holiday Monday 6 May is the date for this year’s Aldbury May Fair and as in previous years there will be loads to keep all ages entertained.
From the traditional maypole dancing, crowning of the May Queen, and Morris Dancers, to activities, pony rides, crafts and fairground rides, there is something for everyone. As in previous years there will be vast array of fabulous stalls with local businesses offering crafts, gifts, food and local charities running great stalls to keep you entertained – don’t miss out on the Teddy Tower Challenge seeing teddies fly down on a zip wire from the church tower! There is also a wonderful art exhibition, which takes place in the school hall, featuring some of the local area’s best artists.
The fair wouldn’t be complete without the wonderful selection of food and drink on offer including a barbeque featuring handmade burgers, street food stalls, a giant paella and much more.
In terms of access to the village, the best approach is via Station Road as there will be no access to the Fair via Stocks Road. There is plenty of car parking so look out for parking signs and marshals will direct you to the nearest car park. Access to the fair is free but there is a small parking charge per car with proceeds going to Friends of Aldbury School and the Ridgeway Scouts.
