Anything Goes – Musical Auditions at the Boxmoor Playhouse
HHTheatre Co are very excited to announce that their musical this year will be Anything Goes, the hit Broadway and West End, Cole Porter musical.
The S. S. American is sailing between New York and England with a comically colourful assemblage of passengers: Reno Sweeney, a popular nightclub singer and former evangelist, her pal Billy Crocker, a lovelorn Wall Street broker who has come aboard to try to win the favour of his beloved Hope Harcourt (who is engaged to another passenger, Sir Evelyn Oakleigh), and a second-rate conman named Moonface Martin, aka ‘Public Enemy #13’. Song, dance, and farcical antics ensue as Reno and Moonface try to help Billy win the love of his life.
The show features a number of dance routines, including tap and jazz, as well as ensemble numbers; therefore, everyone will need to audition, ensemble as well as principals. Prior to auditions there will be a number of pre-audition rehearsals to make sure everyone is thoroughly prepared. The Musical Director will also start teaching the ensemble numbers during these pre-rehearsals. The more of the pre-rehearsals you attend, the better chance you have at succeeding. Please, if you can, attend all the sessions.
