Apply to Become a Hertfordshire Police Officer Now

Living Magazines Recruiting Police Officers

If you’ve got what it takes to be a Hertfordshire police officer, then now is the time to get your application in and start your policing career.

Hertfordshire Constabulary is currently recruiting police officers, with several training courses starting later this year.

They need individuals with passion and drive to join Hertfordshire Constabulary in a unique and rewarding role that gives you the chance to make a positive impact in your local community.

As a police officer you will play a vital role in keeping people safe, reducing crime and catching criminals. Victims and witnesses of crime will look to you for support during the worst times of their life.

Under the new entry route, known as Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship, you’re a police officer from day one, earning a competitive salary, learning on-the-job and gaining a debt-free degree in professional policing practice after three years.

The Constabulary has teamed up with Anglia Ruskin University to provide the academic support but you’ll still be trained by their highly experienced tutor team, who love sharing their years of experience with our new recruits.

Chief Constable Charlie Hall said: ‘Our first-class practical on-the-job training course sets you up for a rewarding and lifelong career as a police officer.

‘You’ll begin your policing service on the frontline responding to 101 and 999 calls. As you progress throughout your career you will have the opportunity to branch out and specialise in others areas of policing too. Throughout your service, you will be fully supported and the strong bonds and friendships you build with your colleagues will remain for life.

‘I’ve enjoyed every moment of my policing career and can’t recommend it to you more highly. Yes, shift work takes a little getting used to, each day is different and demanding but you are trained to deal with these challenges and are well supported throughout. I’d particularly like to reach out to people from diverse backgrounds, to say please come forward, we want you to apply as we want our workforce to reflect the communities we serve and protect.’
