Ashridge Home Care Best Employer in Proud of Bucks Awards

Living Magazines Proud of Bucks Awards Best Employer Ashridge Home Care

From individuals doing their bit in their local area to groups and organisations who have come together to support whole communities, the Proud of Bucks Awards were created in order to shine a light on the great work going on across the county in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Managing Director and founder of Ashridge Home Care, a home care company based in Amersham which arranges live-in or visiting carers to look after people in their own homes, was presented with the Best Employer award and commended for how it supported its staff during the past year. Friends and families voted for the Proud of Bucks winners and there were over 450 award applicants.

Care workers have been at the forefront of looking after our vulnerable during the pandemic but who is looking after them? Trudi Scrivener, owner of the Ashridge Care Home wanted to make sure her staff were well looked after as they carried out their duties during lockdown.

In addition to the regular benefits Trudi gives to her staff, including a bonus scheme and dedicated support, Trudi made sure staff were able to keep in touch through technology and supported them so they were able to support their vulnerable clients.

Before Christmas, Trudi said: ‘During this time of uncertainty and concern it is certainly lovely to receive some good news to cheer up our spirits. The award recognises that we value and look after our care staff. We believe we create an energising and a rewarding place to work and just as we treat our clients as individuals, we also treat our carers with the same personal approach. The end of this year has been very emotional for everyone, the news of the new Tier 4 comes as further disappointment to everyone, especially not seeing loved ones at Christmas. Therefore, this award comes at a time when our team need all the encouragement they can get and they have our support as an employer more than ever. Without their dedication and commitment we would never have got through the year – so this award is testament to everything we have done both as an employer but also individually to make sure people remain safe and well in their own homes.’

She continued: ‘Unfortunately, carers don’t get enough recognition and in many companies they certainly don’t get enough pay. But we are working hard to change that. We want to attract the very best carers therefore it’s important to us that our package is one of the very best in the care industry.’
