Ashridge Home Care Shares Good News In Turbulent Times

Living Magazines HCA_20_Winners-Trudi Scrivener Ashridge Home Care

Amersham based Ashridge Home Care, which provides live-in and visiting care in Buckinghamshire and the South East, has scooped two awards, including Outstanding Individual, which went to the company founder Trudi Scrivener. The news comes hot on the heels of Trudi winning Business Woman of the Year at the SME Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire Business Awards recently.

The Home Care Awards take place annually and aim to be the benchmark of excellence for UK companies and organisations providing home care services. Unfortunately, the ceremony, which was due to take place last week, had to be cancelled due to the Coronavirus threat, however, winners were notified by email.

Eleven awards were given to companies as well as two Gold Awards for Outstanding Achievement, one of which went to Trudi as Outstanding Individual, a high accolade in any sector. She said the win was ‘truly great news’ amidst a ‘challenging time’ for everyone working in frontline services. Trudi commented on the announcement: ‘Receiving the news that I’ve won Outstanding Individual Award is incredible. Running a busy home care business has its challenges, especially at the present time,’ she added. ‘My focus is always about making sure our clients have a good day, everything I do in my business is about achieving this. It’s our carers that deserve the limelight, all I do is make sure that they feel valued and recognised for the incredible work they do. I never underestimate the important role they have and now more than ever, the wider public is appreciating carers and the important role they play in our communities.’

Carol and Tom from Stoke Mandeville are clients of Ashridge Home Care and commented: ‘It was great to hear of Trudi’s win, it’s thoroughly deserved. We’ve been using Ashridge Home Care for two years now as respite care for my mother-in-law who suffers with dementia and lives with us. Ashridge Home Care means that my husband and I can have a break and go on holiday with the complete confidence that Mum is in a safe pair of hands. Trudi has always been a complete professional and goes above and beyond her duty to ensure Mum, us and the carer are well looked after.’

Ashridge Home Care was also crowned overall winner in the Live-In Care Expertise section. It provides specialist care services for a range of illnesses including Dementia, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, spinal injuries as well as emergency care following an accident or fall for example. Carers are matched specifically to each client’s needs and provide continuity of care, enabling clients to stay at home knowing they are well looked after. The nomination highlighted the company’s strategic thinking, innovation and evaluation from clients. Its most recent client survey showed:

  • 100% of clients who responded answered that they always or often felt that their carer made them feel safe in their home.
  • 97% of clients who responded said they would be happy to recommend Ashridge Home Care to a close friend or relative.

Trudi Scrivener founded Ashridge Home Care three years ago. She has over 30 years of care experience and wanted to create a truly caring company where carers had time to spend with clients. She added: ‘I’m so pleased for my team winning the Live-In Care Expertise section. It was such a joy to tell them, especially as they are all working so hard and are showing so much concern for their clients. They are putting in so much extra effort at the moment to keep everyone’s morale up, clients who can’t see families, are worried about their health and their medical appointments, but the team is keeping everyone’s spirits up. I’m so proud of them!’
