Aylesbury Waterside Theatre to support 6 local charities this panto season

Aylesbury Waterside Theatre present Sleeping Beauty

Aylesbury Waterside Theatre will be supporting 6 local charities this festive season during the run of Sleeping Beauty from Fri 4 Dec 2026-Sun 3 Jan 2027.

The venue’s Charity Committee were inspired by the incredible work being done locally and carefully considered all of the worthy applicants before choosing their charity partner for this Christmas.

The resultant unanimous decision was to invite audiences to support Autism Bucks and LEAF (Live Entertainment and Arts Foundation) through bucket collections, and Buckinghamshire Healthcare Charity, Spectrum Community Arts, The MPS Society and The Pace Centre with Magic Tickets.

Neil Cary Chair of Trustees at Autism Bucks said: ‘We’re delighted and grateful that Autism Bucks has been chosen as one of Aylesbury Waterside Theatre’s charity partners this Christmas. Autistic adults can often experience isolation and face difficulties in everyday life. We bring our members together through regular social sessions, activities and events, while providing practical advice and information when needed.

‘We also work with the wider community to increase understanding of autism and help organisations become more inclusive and accepting of autistic differences. As a charity run entirely by volunteers, the generosity of the theatre and its audiences will make a real difference.’

The theatre’s popular Magic Tickets scheme enables customers to add an additional ticket to their order at a discounted rate of just £10, helping a child or family who may otherwise be unable to attend the pantomime experience the magic of live theatre this Christmas.

Local businesses are also encouraged to support the initiative by purchasing Magic Tickets, with the final ticket allocation being distributed through Buckinghamshire Healthcare Charity, The MPS Society, The Pace Centre and Spectrum Community Arts.

The venue team is proud to support these hugely deserving charities with the help of this year’s generous pantomime audiences. Last year, theatre-goers raised over £10,000 through bucket collections and over 100 Magic Tickets were sold.

Here’s to Sleeping Beauty making a meaningful difference to local people and the local community this Christmas.
