Aylesbury Waterside Theatre’s creative learning arm gets a refresh

ATG Inspire Youth Theatre Act

Aylesbury Waterside Theatre’s Creative Learning arm has had a refresh, and will now support the community under its new name: ATG Inspire.

Continuing the venue’s commitment to excellence in cultural education and engagement, Aylesbury Waterside Theatre’s ATG Inspire programme offers inspiring activities and meaningful experiences that empower people to develop and thrive within the arts – and beyond.

Perfect for pre-schoolers, Story Time Adventure (Tue 5 May, Tue 9 Jun and Tue 7 Jul) is an interactive storytelling session for ages 2 to 4 and their parent/guardian. Complete with crafts and games, children are immersed in the magical world of enchanting stories whilst also enjoying the chance to be creative in a safe and welcoming environment.

The venue’s weekly Waterside Singers sessions invite those over 60 to have a sing and chat in the foyer with complimentary hot drink included. Led by Chiltern Music Therapy, no experience is necessary for these informal singing gatherings.

New to the theatre’s portfolio of events is Our Stage, an inclusive drama project for ages 12-18, designed to particularly support young people with disabilities, neurodivergence and additional needs. The project in partnership with Herts Inclusive Theatre runs from 24-27 Aug, ending with a celebratory showcase. A Free Taster Session is being hosted on Wed 27 May. For more information email aylesburyinspire@atgentertainment.com.

Calling young people with a love of theatre! Aylesbury Waterside Theatre’s Academy offers 7 to 11-year-olds the chance to develop key drama skills through improvisation, devising, script and creative work. Running weekly during term time, no prior experience is necessary, and the class enables participants to explore a variety of themes and subjects.

Masterclasses return

From Page To Stage (Wed 8 Jul) where you’re invited to bring your favourite book or book character and explore how to adapt them for the stage using movement, vocal skills and other techniques, to Screen Acting Skills (Wed 15 Jul) teaching the fundamentals of how screen acting differs from stage performances, these masterclasses are especially designed for ages 7-11.

Creative Learning Producer, Kath Tomlin said ‘We’re excited to launch this new branding which really captures the energy and ambition behind our creative learning activities. ATG Inspire opens up so many opportunities for people to share our theatre space, develop skills, get creative as well as explore career pathways. We have already seen fantastic success from our Work in Theatre courses for teenagers and drama Academy for ages 7 to 11 with participants showing creativity and growth: truly inspiring!’
