Bellway Hosts ‘Meet the Neighbours’ Event at Westbrook Moorings

Corks were popped and hand-stretched pizzas devoured at an event hosted by Bellway for its residents at Westbrook Moorings, located in the Hertfordshire village of Bourne End.

Bellway put on a ‘meet the neighbours’ evening to give new residents a chance to get to know each other in a casual and memorable setting, including a custom-built pizza van from local business Mozzarella Fellas, which is based in St Alban’s.

All 59 homes at the development, next to the Grand Union Canal, have been built and all but one of them have now been sold. A diverse group of buyers have been drawn to the canal-side location.

Jo, a 39-year-old operations director, along with her partner and dog Basil were the first residents to move in.

She described: ‘What made our home even more ‘must-have’ was that it was on a development in a gorgeous rural setting right next to a canal. It is a lovely quiet place and there’s a real sense of community.

‘It is great to be here surrounded by all this greenery as it feels like we are in the middle of the countryside, yet we can still get out and about when we need or want to. The M25 is ten minutes’ drive away, which is brilliant.’

Natalie MacLeod, Bellway North London Sales Manager, said: ‘It was a really successful night. Everyone took advantage of a nice evening, and enjoyed chatting away in the garden. And the pizzas were certainly a hit with all ages!

The event was held on Friday 26 May and attracted brand new residents, alongside those who have been living on the development since it first opened in 2021.
