Berkhamsted business aims to donate 10,000 pairs of socks to children in need this Christmas

A small, independent children’s brand based in Berkhamsted is on a mission to keep little toes warm this winter, with an ambitious pledge to donate 10,000 pairs of socks to babies and children in need by Christmas.

The Little Sock Company, founded in 2018 by local mum of three Katie Saunders, launched its No More Cold Toes campaign with a simple promise: for every order placed, the business will donate a pair of socks to a child who needs them.

Having already exceeded its original target of 6,000 pairs, the company has now raised its sights to an incredible 10,000 pairs by Christmas.

To help the donations reach families across the country, The Little Sock Company has partnered with three organisations: Little Village, Baby Bank Alliance and Baby Basics UK.

The charities were carefully chosen to help the campaign reach as far as possible, supporting babies and children experiencing hardship in communities throughout the UK.

Katie Saunders, founder of The Little Sock Company, explains: ‘As a mum of three, I find it heartbreaking to think of babies and young children going without something as basic as warm socks, especially during the winter months.

‘When I started The Little Sock Company eight years ago, I wanted to create beautiful, practical products that genuinely made parents’ lives easier. Now we’re in a position where we can use our business to help families who really need it.

‘We originally hoped to donate 6,000 pairs by Christmas, so to have already exceeded that has been absolutely incredible. We’ve now set ourselves a new target of 10,000 pairs, and I’d love nothing more than to reach it!’

Having built The Little Sock Company independently, without outside investment, Katie is passionate about showing how small businesses can make a meaningful difference.

Known for its award-winning Stay-on Socks, baby booties and thoughtfully designed children’s essentials, the brand has grown from a small start-up into a much-loved independent British business.

With Christmas fast approaching, Katie hopes the campaign will inspire even more people to get behind No More Cold Toes and help ensure that thousands of babies and children across the UK have warmer feet this winter.
