Berkhamsted hair salon announced as finalists in coveted industry award

Living Magazines Alchemy & I Hair Salon Blowdry Bar

Berkhamsted-based hair salon, Alchemy & I, have been nominated for ‘Best New Salon’ in the Most Wanted Awards 2020.

The ground-breaking salon, which shares a building with sister company Cecily Spa, is nominated for the national industry award due to their fast-growing success as well as rave reviews for their alchemist’s bespoke cuts, colours and blow-drys.

The salon takes an avant-garde approach to the customer experience where clients access 360 customer service via an innovative Alchemy & I app. By scanning a QR code at their chair, clients can order hot or cold drinks and premium cocktails, as well as lunch from local food partners.

Where the salon goes above and beyond, however, is through the extra assistance they offer. From topping up parking tickets to providing phone chargers, nothing is too much for the salon’s team.

The award also celebrates the sustainable approach Alchemy & I have taken towards their products and services. Opting for cruelty-free products in biodegradable packaging, installing eco-friendly lighting, and choosing to buy locally, the salon is dedicated to providing luxury without costing the earth.

Presented by leading industry magazine Creative HEAD, Most Wanted recognises the most accomplished salons leading the way in British and Irish hairdressing – the nominees impressing with their creative and commercial skills, building business through inspirational teamwork and playing a vital role in their local communities.

14 categories celebrate success across a multitude of disciplines and entries are judged by experts from across the board. This year’s panels included Sonia Haria, beauty director of the Telegraph Group; Claudia Croft, deputy editor of 10 Magazine and contributing editor for Vogue; Anna Teal, business development director of global brands at Walgreen Boots Alliance and the global CEO at Aromatherapy Associates; plus a host of industry influencers.

Haylee Benton, founder of Alchemy & I, commented: ‘Alchemy & I was launched as a way of offering high street accessibility to high technical skill and indulgent hair services, and we’re ecstatic that our innovative approach has been recognised in the Most Wanted Awards.

‘Since our launch in March 2019, our team have worked incredibly hard to take Alchemy & I from strength to strength, and we’re thrilled that our dedication to sustainability and indulgent customer experiences are being celebrated.’

Alchemy & I are one of five finalists in the Best New Salon category, earning a place at the Most Wanted Grand Final on Sunday 29 November at Printworks where the winners will be announced.
