Berkhamsted’s First Independent B Corp

Waggle Design Ltd (Waggle), a creative graphic design agency, is proud to announce that it is a certified B Corporation (B Corp), the first in Berkhamsted, and one of the 2,000 UK companies joining a global movement that are reinventing business for the benefit of the all people and the planet.

Waggle started its B Corp journey back in January 2023 after noticing more interest in sustainable business in its industry and it being an opportunity to demonstrate the Company’s core business values around doing better business. They submitted their B Impact Assessment (BIA) in July that year and received verification in early 2024. Waggle became certified on 5 February 2024 with 86 points across the five main impact areas; Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers.

The B Corp certification assesses the entirety of a business’ operations across the five impact areas. It is a rigorous process, requiring companies to achieve a minimum of 80 points in the BIA and provide evidence of responsible practices relating to energy supply, waste and water usage, work compensation, diversity, and corporate transparency. A business must also legally embed their commitment to purpose as well as to profit.

Waggle’s highest scoring impact area is Workers (33.5), followed by Community (22) and Governance (18.5) benchmarking them high above their peers in these areas based on company size and sector. For example, Waggle offers a wide range of benefits to all staff on joining, irrespective of part or full time, including additional paid leave for ‘Adventure Days’ to pursue a hobby or extra time to shop the local street market each week.
