Brewery Gives Away Free Beer during Plastic Free July
To celebrate Plastic Free July, Tring Brewery are giving away free beer with each purchase of a reusable container from their brewery shop throughout the month.
Plastic Free July is a global ecological movement that aims to eliminate plastic pollution, offering innovative solutions to millions of people from international manufacturers to cottage industry artisans.
As a grain-to-glass process, brewing is intrinsically linked to agriculture and the environment, using both hop and barley crops as key ingredients in the production of tasty ales and lagers.
To thank customers for joining Tring Brewery’s green mission, the local producer is offering customers one or two litres of beer, completely free-of-charge, to match the size of their new reusable ‘growler’.
Growlers are refillable beer containers, most commonly available in litre-sized glass or stainless-steel jugs, used for the storage of fresh draught beer. Tring Brewery’s growlers are made from stainless steel, branded with their signature emblem and coated matte black. The stainless-steel packaging allows the container to keep beer cool and fresh, as well as offering an almost endless lifecycle, especially when compared to conventional single-use plastics.
Tring Brewery were named Dacorum Borough Council’s ‘Environment Heroes’ in 2019, a nod to the brewer’s use of growlers, along with their processing energy recovery and the upcyling of spent-grain, repurposed as animal feed for use on their homestead Dunsley Farm.
