Budget 2018 Plans for the High Street
The Chancellor announced his Autumn Budget earlier this week, in which the high street featured strongly, with several new measures being introduced to support smaller local business:
- Rates relief from April 2019 if you’re under £51,000 in rateable value.
- £675 million towards the Future High Streets Fund.
- A 2% digital services tax for online giants.

During his Budget speech, the Chancellor said: ‘Embedded in the fabric of our great cities, towns and villages, the high street lies at the heart of many communities and it is under pressure as never before.’
