Rennie Grove Hospice Care is inviting residents across Bucks and Herts who take pride in their garden to consider opening it up and helping the charity to raise funds for local patients with a life-limiting illness.
Claire Redrup, Community and Events Fundraising Manager said: ‘It doesn’t matter if your garden is large or small, wild or landscaped, lawn or paved, you could help us raise funds by opening your garden to visitors between May and September this year. We know there are many hidden treasures nestling behind houses in our residential areas that their owners lovingly tend all year-round, no matter what the weather. We also know from previous years that other people love to visit gardens and get the chance to admire the results of the hard work that often goes into their creation. What better way to share your pride and joy with like-minded people and to raise funds for a local hospice at home charity at the same time?
‘Gardeners can be nervous of opening their garden to the public as they want everything to be perfect and pristine. Don’t worry if your space isn’t perfect, we all love a work in progress and can be inspired and enthused by all you’ve achieved. Just remember, if you open your garden for Rennie Grove you’ll be helping local nurses to care for those in your community who need it most.
‘Our friendly fundraising team here at Rennie Grove can provide information, help and advice on what you need to do to take part so why not give them a call or send an email to find out what’s entailed?’
Get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 01442 8902222. And if you are interested in visiting local open gardens during the spring and summer then please keep an eye on their website where details of all participants will be published once confirmed.
If you are proud of your plot, pleased with your pots or partial to your pond then get in touch and showcase your achievements to other keen gardeners whilst raising funds for a great local cause.
