CCBH Launches First Couples Canal Boat

Living Magazines Canal Boat

Chiltern Canal Boat Holidays (CCBH), a family run boat hire company based in Hertfordshire, on the famous Grand Union Canal, have announced that ‘Mini Escape’, their first 2-berth narrowboat, is now open for bookings.

Custom designed in a country style, for couples looking for a relaxing break, Mini Escape is a 27ft narrowboat with a cruiser stern which has been created by the company to provide a unique, luxury boating experience. A canal holiday aboard Mini Escape where you are immersed in nature and can explore at your own pace is the perfect way to slow down and escape the norm. It’s a unique kind of trip that’s all about the journey, not the destination…

That journey along the canal offers a very different perspective as you on an adventure through the Chilterns Hills – even locals will feel a million miles away. Customers can cruise Mini Escape along the Grand Union through Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire and explore this scenic area of the English countryside. With some renowned nature spots such as Tring Reservoirs and Ivinghoe Beacon along the route, and several historic market towns and quaint countryside villages to explore with their boutique shops and historic landmarks, there really is something for everyone to love on their holiday through the Chilterns. Plus, there are plenty of lovely canalside pubs to enjoy along the way.

Corinne Newman, co-owner at CCBH says: ‘We are really excited to share Mini Escape with our customers. A large portion of our guests are couples who are completely new to boating, so we wanted to be able to offer a boat that is easy to learn on, whilst providing a beautiful space for them to relax and enjoy the experience.’

Bookings for Mini Escape are now being taken for the 2022 & 2023 seasons, and prices range from just £550 for a long weekend up to £1,200 for a full week. Customers can check availability and book online at www.chilterncanalboatholidays.com. Both beginners and experienced skippers are welcomed as all tuition and safety equipment is provided.
