Champneys event raises £100,000!

Berkhamsted and Tring Living Magazines Start of Champneys fundraiser

Champneys’ Hike, Bike & Trike Challenge on 8 October raised £100,000 for BBC Children in Need and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

In persistent morning drizzle, Matt Baker (Countryfile, The One Show) led off the 10-mile challenge. The course involved a bike or trike for two miles followed by a six-mile hike before cycling another two miles back to Champneys. Between 150-200 people took part and upwards of 40 volunteers kept the event on track.

Frank Bruno MBE and Eastenders‘ Jake Wood, friends of Champneys owner Stephen Purdew, were there to lend support.

Back at Champneys, an afternoon of family fun and entertainment was laid on. Champneys is at www.champneys.com.
