Come together for one night to change people’s futures

DENS Sleepout

Hertfordshire-based charity, DENS, has unveiled its new-look Sleepout fundraising event – taking place on Friday 20 November at The Dock in Kings Langley.

The premise is simple but driven by purpose. Give up your home comforts and spend a night sleeping outside to make a difference for local people facing homelessness, who have nowhere left to turn.

From workplace teams and local organisations to families and friendship groups, participants will join forces to raise funds for DENS’ vital services – providing crisis intervention, preventative support and an empowering pathway forward for vulnerable people in the community.

The venue offers a secure, covered sleeping area, with opportunities throughout the night to connect closer with the important cause and learn more about the life-changing work of DENS.

An exciting line-up of entertainment includes live music and games, alongside delicious options from local street food vendors.

Last year’s edition of the event saw a record-breaking attendance – raising thousands of pounds to help rebuild the lives of local people at their time of need.

Charlotte McCarthy, Senior Community & Events Fundraiser at DENS, said: ‘The Sleepout isn’t about pretending to experience homelessness. It’s about choosing one uncomfortable night to help someone else find safety, support and a place to call home.’

Registration is now open for the DENS Sleepout at www.dens.org.uk/sleepout-26.
