Community invited to celebrate Armed Forces Day

Dacorum Armed Forces Day 2026

Dacorum Borough Council is holding its annual Armed Forces Day celebration on Saturday 27 June, in Gadebridge Park from 12-4pm.

This special event is a chance to recognise and show appreciation for the dedication and service of our Armed Forces community, including serving personnel, veterans, cadets, and their families.

Go along for an afternoon packed with entertainment and activities for all ages. The main arena will showcase an exciting programme throughout the day, including Birds of Prey demonstrations, Home Guard foot drill displays, swing dancers, and plenty of interactive fun for the whole family.

Beyond the arena, visitors can explore over 40 stalls featuring local craftspeople, community groups and organisations, alongside a wide range of food and drink options. There will also be fairground rides, adding even more fun to the day.

Additional attractions include reenactment groups, military vehicles (including a Sherman tank), children’s games, face painting, a crime scene challenge and even Alpacas, ensuring there’s something to entertain everyone.

This free community event promises a fantastic day out while honouring those who serve our country.

Cllr Caroline Smith-Wright, Portfolio Holder for People and Transformation (Climate & Ecological Emergency) said: ‘We are proud to be hosting our Armed Forces Day event in the beautiful surroundings of Gadebridge Park.

‘It is a wonderful opportunity for our communities to come together to recognise and thank our Armed Forces and their families for their dedication and sacrifice.

‘The day offers something for everyone, with a wide range of entertainment and activities for all ages, alongside a great selection of community, craft and food stalls to enjoy.’
