Community Spirit Celebrated by New Hertfordshire Awards
Little Ankle Biters Herts has launched the first business and community awards and are looking for you to nominate your favourite in the county
Today, Monday 11 January, marks the launch of the first ever Little Ankle Biters Herts Awards and the organisers are calling on the people of Hertfordshire to start nominating.
This year and what will become an annual search for the county’s most popular local family friendly businesses, will also honour individuals and organisations who have made an extraordinary impact in their community especially those who have adapted during the covid-19 pandemic.
There are 17 categories in total, all created to shine a light on the talented and hardworking people behind Hertfordshire’s family friendly community. They include Best Children’s Activity Class, Best Place to Eat, Best New Business, Best Community Spirit and Mumprenuer of the Year to name a few.
Little Ankle Biters Hertfordshire is a free website for every member of the family providing trusted reviews of the best activity clubs, days out, classes and child friendly pubs and restaurants, all supported by great tips and advice about how to entertain kids across Hertfordshire.
From today, Little Ankle Biters Herts is calling for nominations of people and businesses who have done and created amazing businesses for families and are an inspiration to us all.
Businesses with the majority of nominations in each category will be shortlisted and entered into a public vote throughout February.

‘Now, more than ever, people have rallied together, and individuals and businesses are performing inspirational acts and extraordinary endeavours to help our county, towns and villages. Last year was an enormous challenge for everyone – for parents and carers trying to keep a protective layer of positivity around our family unit, and for family friendly businesses that needed to adapt and change like a chameleon to ensure survival.
‘The Little Ankle Biters Herts Awards are nominated and voted for by local people, providing us all with a chance to put a smile on the faces of those who have worked amazingly hard to keep our families safe, happy and entertained.’

- Best Charity or not for profit organisation
- Best Independent Business
- Best Pregnancy/Maternity Business
- Best New Business (family friendly business launched in the last 24 months)
- Best New Product/Service (Existing family friendly business with new product or service in last 24 months)
- Mumpreneur of the Year
- Best Community Spirit
- Best Family Friendly place to eat (pub, café or restaurant)
- Best Theatre
- Best Museum
- Best Soft Play
- Best Children’s Party Entertainer
- Best Children’s Party Venue
- Best Party Supplier
- Best Children’s Sports Club
- Best Children’s Activity Class
- Best Family Attraction

Nominations are now open and close 29 January 2021.
A shortlist will be revealed when voting opens from w/c 2 February 2021, followed by a virtual or in-person event to announce the prestigious Little Ankle Biters’ Awards winners, in March 2021.
