Constabulary welcomes new communications operators
Hertfordshire Constabulary formally welcomed six new recruits to the Force Communications Room (FCR), marking the successful completion of their intensive training.
The new operators celebrated alongside friends and family at a graduation ceremony held on Friday 20 February at police headquarters in Welwyn Garden City. Each graduate was presented with a certificate recognising their achievement and commitment to public service.
The cohort now joins the FCR’s highly skilled team responsible for responding to emergency and non‑emergency calls, live chat enquiries and online crime reports. Working 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the FCR plays a vital role in ensuring victims and those in need receive timely, compassionate and effective support from the very first point of contact.
FCR Digital and Innovation Manager Richard Wilde said: ‘Our communications operators are the first point of contact for thousands of people each week, often speaking to members of the public in some of their most difficult moments. These new recruits have shown incredible dedication throughout their training, and we are proud to welcome them into the team. Their professionalism, resilience and commitment will help us continue to keep Hertfordshire safe.’
