Country Living Spring Fair Celebrates 35 Years of the Magazine

Country Living Spring Fair will return to Alexandra Palace from 23-26 April 2020, with an exciting new line-up of the very best of British businesses and a truly unique experience for visitors and exhibitors, and we have two pairs of tickets to give away! Read on for more details.

Celebrating the 35th anniversary of Country Living Magazine, the publication’s core values will be celebrated across the Country Living Spring Fair through four new show themes; Grow, Taste, Design and Make. Each sector will be brought to life with over 350 exhibitors, all-new immersive features and inspiring craft workshops, to make for an unforgettable and unique day out.

Visitors can begin their day by discovering insightful and educational talks on topics including growing your own vegetables, bee keeping, building a new business, and more. The Fair will be equipped with the advice, expertise and products needed for visitors to get growing for the new decade!

Attendees will also be able to shop food artisans, taste delicacies from an array of producers showcasing a variety of cuisines in the CL Pop Up Market, and learn how to make delicious, seasonal recipes using produce which can be sourced locally or grown at home. Returning exhibitor, The Truckle Cheese Company will be at the Fair, with their moreish selection of British cheeses and accompaniments, while Glenilen Farm will also showcase their delicious range of dairy products including yoghurts, desserts, creams and butters, all created in owner Val’s Farmhouse kitchen.

On the CL Kitchen Theatre, Expert speaker, Eco-chef and food waste activist Tom Hunt talks Eating for pleasure, people & the planet, whilst Great British Bake Off 2018 winner Rahul Mandal will share insights into the craft and skill that goes into creating some of the country’s most exciting cakes and bakes. Chef Mike Keen, Gracie & Sophie aka The Squirrel Sisters, Alex Hollywood and Lisa Faulkner will also be live on stage throughout the weekend sharing their foodie expertise and cooking up a storm in the kitchen.

Across the show, from the Country Living Stage to the Good Life Theatre, visitors will be able to learn from design led talks and seminars covering interior style trends to interviews with industry insiders. Chef, bestselling cookbook author and Fairtrade and sustainability champion, Melissa Hemsley will join Emma- Louise Pritchard, digital editor, Country Living on the Good Life Theatre alongside  interviews with Country Living Editors and artisan makers; offering inspiring insight into the latest trends in food, interiors, fashion and more.

Masters of craft and design Artcuts will showcase their contemporary range of craft products, gifts and decorations, all designed and produced in their Surrey workshops and visitors can take part in daily workshops with the team, taking home their own unique, handcrafted items. Individual jewellery designers Simone Micallef and Annie Mundy will also exhibit some truly unique pieces.

Two new designers TY SYML and Hestia Blankets, who both won the opportunity to exhibit at the Fair, will be exciting additions to the line-up. Hestia Blankets was founded by NHS doctor and designer Susy Stirling, who now operates her Sheffield-based textiles studio working with Harris Tweed to create blankets in striking contemporary colour combinations. Focusing on sustainability, award-winning Welsh designers Adam Davies, Adam Humphrey and Daniel Davies of TY SYML boast a range of environmentally friendly products such a lamp shades and acoustic wall panels, all created using mushroom composites.

Crafters and makers can take part in Workshops and Masterclasses with talented creators, enabling visitors to make products to take away whilst gaining valuable knowledge and learning new skills.

New features to the Fair also include the Garden Café and the House Beautiful Modern Living Area presenting a contemporary living zone curated and brought to life by the House Beautiful team. Visitor favourites will also be returning; fashion lovers can explore the Vintage Village and the recover with a cold glass of fizz in the Champagne Lounge sponsored by Viking.
