The latest figures for the end of April 2020, show that there has been a total of 2,243 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Hertfordshire to date.

The figures, which are released by Public Health England, record 398 deaths in the county from the virus.

This compares with the national figures of 171,253 cases and 26,771 deaths.

There have been 273 deaths recorded by West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust (Watford General Hospital, Hemel Hempstead Hospital, and St Albans City Hospital).

There have been 110 deaths recorded by the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, seven by the Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust and eight by the Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.

In comparison, The University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust has recorded a total of 758 deaths.
