CPRE Hertfordshire Children’s Art Competition

CPRE Childrens Art Competition

CPRE Hertfordshire, the countryside charity, is delighted to announce that submissions are now open for its Children’s Art Competition 2024 to all primary school children in Hertfordshire.

The theme for the Children’s Art Competition this year is: Why I love the Hertfordshire Countryside.

Children can create an artwork portraying anything related to what they love about the Hertfordshire countryside. Their artwork could be related to local wildlife, beautiful scenery, flower fields, trees through the seasons, our precious chalk streams – let their imaginations take over!

There is a £500 prize for the winning school and individual prizes for pupils in each age group category, plus a special ceremony in the autumn to showcase and celebrate all our young artists.

CPRE Hertfordshire’s Chief Executive, Abby Coften, said: ‘We are very excited to receive this year’s entries and to discover what excites young people about the countryside. The aim of the competition is to connect children with what the countryside means to them so that we can open their eyes to the importance of protecting Hertfordshire’s green spaces. We are looking forward to sharing and celebrating their artwork with the wider community at this year’s awards ceremony in the Autumn.’

The competition is open for submissions until Friday 19 July and the winning school and pupils in each age category will be contacted in September. For further information on how schools can enter, visit: www.cpreherts.org.uk/news/cpre-hertfordshires-2024-childrens-art-competition
