Craft your way to Christmas at College Lake Tring
This December, College Lake in Tring will transform into a winter wonderland, offering families, children, and adults the perfect chance to get creative, embrace the outdoors, celebrate the festive season naturally and connect with wildlife.
Full of the festive magic, College Lake will hit the ground running, in the first week of December inviting children to craft woodland decorations and adults to create their own seasonal wreaths.
As well as guided walks and birdwatching, there is also the option to simply unwind and reconnect with nature through calming Forest Bathing mindfulness sessions that College Lake will run on 14 December.
But the festive fun doesn’t stop there. Between Christmas and New Year, College Lake celebrates the 12 Days Wild, a midwinter nature challenge, that encourages you to do one wild thing a day! Designed to connect you with wildlife and inspire curiosity, College Lake invites you to spot wintering birds, try other wildlife-inspired crafts, and discover small ways to help nature thrive.
To receive bonus resources and ideas, you can sign up at www.wildlifetrusts.org/12dayswild, and keep an eye out for free drop-in activities during this period.
The trails, wildlife, and café are open Tuesday to Sunday – explore miles of winding paths through diverse habitats, home to over 1,000 species, or join one of the festive workshops and leave with your own seasonal creation.
Entry is free, but the Trust relies on donations to keep the reserve thriving.
