The Hemel Garden Communities programme is inviting everyone around Hemel Hempstead to explore the past, present and future of the town – with a chance to win a £200 bike voucher!
They are hosting two photo and drawing competitions for children and adults, asking ‘What does Hemel mean to you?’ and ‘What will Hemel be like in the future?’ Enter by 12 July. We’re Good To Go – New Industry Standard Launched
Visit Britain and Visit England have announced the launch of a UK-wide industry standard and consumer mark to provide a ‘ring of confidence’ for tourism as the sector works towards reopening.
The ‘We’re Good To Go‘ industry standard and supporting mark means businesses across the sector can demonstrate that they are adhering to the respective Government and public health guidance, have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and check they have the required processes in place.
The scheme is free to join and open to all businesses across the sector.
To obtain the mark businesses must complete a self-assessment through the online platform including a check-list confirming they have put the necessary processes in place, before receiving certification and the ‘We’re Good To Go’ mark for display in their premises and online.
Over £1m Discretionary Grants Paid Out to Local Businesses
The Economic Development Team have been working through both phases of the Discretionary Grant applications and will have paid out over £1m of funding by the end of the week.
These grants are helping businesses affected by the shock of the pandemic to move forward into the ‘new normal’ as the economy comes out of lock-down. The team have gained valuable intelligence through surveys and the grant process to understand the impact on businesses, informing the economic strategy for future recovery.
