Dacorum Borough Council holds first Housing Open Day

Dacorum Borough Council is holding its first Housing Open Day on Wednesday 29 November.

The informal exhibition style event at The Forum, Hemel Hempstead from 3-7pm is open to all who would like to come and find out more about the Housing Service.

Residents can find out about their housing options in the borough, mutual exchange and shared ownership.

The Council Repairs team will be on hand to offer support and advice and log any repairs, and the Complaints team will be on hand to discuss complaints and log new ones.

Organisations such as DENS and Sunnyside Rural Trust will also be at the event as well as Citizens Advice Dacorum to offer advice and support in the run up to Christmas.

There will be four guest speakers including mutual exchange experts, Clarion who will be advising how the mutual exchange process works.

Also included will be activities to keep children entertained and a free snack and hot drink available for the first 250 participants. There will be a number of freebies available, and free raffles to enter, with prizes including a slow cooker, hampers, and gift cards.

Children’s activities running throughout the event include free face painting (between 3.30-5.30pm), a treasure hunt style event and a colouring competition with a range of prizes to be won.

Portfolio Holder for Housing and Property Services, Cllr Simy Dhyani said: ‘We are excited to be holding our first Housing Open Day. This is a real opportunity for our residents to talk to the people who make up our Housing Service. Whether you have an issue you want to discuss or give feedback this is your chance. We want to hear from you and look forward to seeing you there.’
