The return of filming crews to Dacorum has generated great excitement around the borough. In recent weeks, Netflix’s Afterlife and the BBC’s Ladhood have started to film their new series, taking advantage of the many great filming locations that Dacorum has to offer. Both television shows have huge, yet very different, audiences which helps to raise the national and international profile of Dacorum.

Filming in the area has become increasingly popular due to the borough’s proximity to London, its countryside settings, and its historic charm. Production companies are booking in larger numbers than ever before. Local residents and businesses have welcomed their arrival, with many heading out to catch a glimpse of their favourite on-screen stars.

The Portfolio Holder for Planning and Infrastructure, Councillor Alan Anderson, said: ‘Dacorum Borough Council is looking forward to welcoming some exciting productions over the coming weeks, months and years, and will seek to enable this wherever it can. The Council are hoping to encourage more filming projects to film in Dacorum to support the local economy, and are working with partner organisations to ensure that every opportunity is taken to create the best return for the Borough.’
