Dacorum’s Den Entrepreneur Awards

Living Magazines Dacorums Den

Eight budding entrepreneurs were awarded cheques of up to £2000 from local MP Sir Mike Penning after impressing judges at Dacorum’s Den with their innovative ideas and business acumen.

Dacorum’s Den, based on the popular TV show, was launched in 2011 and since that time has invested over £60,000 in business growth, leading to the creation of 53 new jobs.

This year’s winners were awarded their cheques at a ceremony held at Shendish Manor, Hemel Hempstead, in July. The winners included:

  • Berkhamsted architect David Kirkland of D-Lab, for creating a space where people can rent desk space and collaborate on projects. David plans to use his grant to buy top-of-the-range 3D printers
  • Vix Russell, of Artivisual Media in Berkhamsted, who will be using her grant to trademark her logo and to gain a Certificate in Professional Marketing
  • Maddi Saunders and Emma Donabie, of Tring, who have formed a partnership to grow a bespoke paper cut illustrations business. Their £2,000 grant will enable them to buy a cutting machine and an iPad-based design application.

Our warmest congratulations to all the winners!
