Dear Evan Hansen Never Alone Buddies

Knit & Natter team and Never Alone Buddies for Dear Evan Hansen at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre

Local Knit and Natter group have donated a hamper full of Never Alone Buddies for audience members to seek out during their visit to see award-winning musical, Dear Evan Hansen at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre which starts its run today.

Funded by family-run funeral directors, C.P.J Field and led by Maria Butler, the Knit and Natter members meet up weekly for the free, community-based programme that aims to provide emotional, social and practical support to help combat loneliness.

With loneliness, isolation and connection being strong themes within Dear Evan Hansen, the local knitters thought it would be the perfect partnership and opportunity to spread some cheer by donating knitted Never Alone Buddies for audience members to find. Each buddy has a heartwarming message and also a QR code directing to further support should their finder or indeed anyone associated to the discoverer need it.

Maria Butler who runs the group said: ‘The Knit and Natter team get great satisfaction from knitting the Never Alone Buddies and from wondering who might stumble upon them. With the pressures of today’s society, wellbeing has never been more important, and all at the club hope they can play their part in raising a smile during the week of the show.’

Dear Evan Hansen runs from Tue 10-Sat 14 Jun. Never Alone Buddies will be hidden for every performance in the venue’s public spaces, hoping to find their forever home.
