Dacorum Borough Council is organising a celebration in honour of the Armed Forces on Saturday 29 June, 11am-3pm in Gadebridge Park, Hemel Hempstead.

The Armed Forces Day event is an opportunity for the council and residents to show gratitude and appreciation for past, present and future military forces from air, land and sea units.

This is the third year running Dacorum Borough Council has hosted the regional Armed Forces Day showcase, which is expected to attract a huge number of people.

The event is free to enter and has something for all the family to enjoy.

There will be an exciting programme of free entertainment, the line-up includes the IMPS Motorcycle Team, the Eastbourne Youth Field Gun Team (pictured), the Revelations Majorettes and more.

There will also be a Venturer Simulator, inflatables and adventure equipment for everyone to enjoy plus stalls, stands and activities in the park.

Cllr Julie Banks, Portfolio Holder for Community and Regulatory Services, said: ‘I’m proud to mark this national celebration of the contribution made by our Armed Forces.

‘I encourage members of our local community to join us in our beautiful Gadebridge Park to show their support and enjoy the day’s spectacular entertainment. And whilst in the park don’t miss the opportunity to visit the mural created by Hemel Rocks and local artists in the subway near the skate park, which includes a tribute to our Armed Forces.’

Similar events have been taking place across the UK, enabling people to come out and show their support, and giving a much-valued morale boost for Armed Forces personnel and their families. This year’s national event takes place in Salisbury.
