As the prospect of a new hospital in West Herts recedes, a private healthcare business has opened a £15m clinic in Hemel Hempstead.

One Stop Doctors, two minutes from Junction 8 on the M1, is open seven days a week, with early-morning and evening appointments available. It offers a wide range of medical services and aims to make them generally affordable.

The clinic was opened by the Mayor of Dacorum, Robert Mclean, who said: ‘I was extremely impressed with the new facility. This fantastic high-tech diagnostic centre is a real boost to the medical services both in the borough and the wider county.’

One Stop Doctors’ outpatient clinic offers same-day appointments and direct access to consultants, diagnostic tests, GPs, dentists, and physiotherapists alongside a wide range of other specialist services. These include:

  • Minor injuries
  • Orthopaedics
  • Cardiology
  • Gastroenterology
  • Neurology
  • Endocrinology
  • Well-woman clinics
  • Men’s health services
  • Advanced aesthetics treatments

It is fully accredited by all major regulators and private medical insurance companies and approved by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

With 20 consulting rooms and state-of-the-art equipment, including advanced MRI scanning equipment and a Mammography with 3D Tomosynthesis machine, the clinic also has the very latest in CT, 3D CBCT, digital X-ray, Dexa scan and ultrasound machinery for fast, accurate diagnosis.

One Stop Doctors’ CEO Ella Tracey said: ‘In recent years, there has been a steadily increasing demand for advanced medical expertise and specialist treatment from people who need a quicker, more flexible option that fits around their busy lives.

‘We want to meet this demand, at an affordable price, and provide excellent personal service in a reassuring, comfortable environment. We want our patients to feel relaxed and well cared for.’

Tracey added: ‘Our aim is to change the face of private healthcare by creating an environment and expertise that puts the patient and their well-being – both physical and emotional – first.’
