First Tring Book Festival a Huge Success

Living Magazines Tring Book Festival

The first Tring Book Festival has come to an end. Running from 8-17 November, the festival was a huge success. During its ten days, 36 events were held across 7 beautiful venues featuring 53 authors. Over 4,400 tickets were sold, along with a staggering 1,600 books.

Not only was the festival attended by hordes of local book lovers, a total of 70 volunteers came forward from the local community to assist festival organisers and ensure all the events ran smoothly.

The feedback from festival attendees has been positive, with one saying – ‘Wonderful event – just wish I’d clocked it sooner before things sold out. Amazing line up of brilliant authors. What a great asset to our lovely town.’

Tring Book Festival followed the opening of Our Bookshop on Tring High Street in September. Owned and run by Ben Moorhouse, organiser of Tring Book Festival, Our Bookshop is currently selling signed copies of many of the books featured in the festival, alongside an excellent selection of fiction, non-fiction and children’s books, making it a must-visit for Christmas shopping.

Ben Moorhouse said – ‘We’re extremely pleased with how the first Tring Book Festival went. The feedback we’ve had from the public has been both delightful and encouraging. We can’t wait to do it all again in 2020 – only 344 days to go!’
