Flagship Development is Complete

Living Magazines DBC flagship development Kylna Court

Kylna Court, Dacorum Borough Council’s brand new block of 79 homes for social rent in Wood Lane End, Maylands, Hemel Hempstead, has welcomed its first new tenants.

The Council already owns around 10,000 tenanted properties as well as 1,800 leasehold flats, but recognises the high demand for more new homes for local people and is working towards building 300 affordable homes in the borough by 2020.

Dacorum Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Housing, Councillor Margaret Griffiths, commented: ‘Kylna Court is our largest development so far, bringing 79 much-needed new homes as well as business units. Whenever we ask our tenants to tell us their top priorities, they always ask for more new Council housing in the borough, so we are delighted to be making best use of previously developed land on this former industrial site.’

Kylna Court provides attractive and comfortable, good quality, practical housing for social rent. The design also includes roof gardens for residents’ use.

Part of the ground floor will provide eight additional business offices to the Maylands Business Centre, together with a reception area. This new Kylna Business Centre supplements and supports the successful Maylands Business Centre nearby.
