Free Bike Marking

Recently Hertfordshire Constabulary have seen a rise in bike thefts, specifically in Dacorum. In response to this they will be holding a bike marking session on 14 March 2020 between 10am-3pm (subject to variation). This will be held at Halfords on London Road in Hemel Hempstead.

Police believe bike marking will help reduce theft due to the visible deterrent the marking leaves. This alerts offenders to the fact that these bikes are traceable and registered on a database. Further to this when a stolen bike is recovered by police, this system makes it easier to reunite the cycle with the owner.
