From the heart…
Young pupils at Lockers Park Preparatory School have helped raise £1,498 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The school chose to support Great Ormond Street as one of its pupils was treated there last summer and is now on the road to recovery.
In their Art from the Heart project, pupils based their designs on hearts, from collages through to pencil drawings and paintings.
Headmaster Christopher Wilson said: ‘Pupils and staff alike were unanimous in wanting to support Great Ormond Street Hospital. Parents were encouraged to donate as much as they could for each design to help towards buying a new cell processor which is used to prepare samples for bone marrow transplants, helping more children with leukaemia and immune deficiencies to receive the care they deserve.’
Laura Savory, Senior Fundraising Manager at Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity said: ‘We’re so grateful to Lockers Park School for their support. The money raised will help to make a huge difference to young patients and families from across the UK.’
