Fun day boosts appeal for Tring church walls
The Friends of Tring Church Heritage (FOTCH) last year launched a major appeal to ensure that the Norman walls of the magnificent medieval building at the heart of the town stay strong and tall for generations to come.
Already well over £40,000 has been raised and with the work on the turret roof now completed, difficult repairs have begun on the church’s east end – the oldest part of the building.
However, there is still a long way to go, and more fundraisers are planned for the Save our Walls Appeal.
On Thursday 9 July, from 7.30pm, the Even More Extravagant Evening at Tring Market Auctions offers food, wine, and music with a range of intriguing experiences and activities for you to bid for.
On Saturday 3 October, at 7.30pm, a concert in the church will feature Anna Le Hair on the piano and Colin Stevens on the new organ.
A fun day in the church and churchyard in aid of the Save our Walls Appeal is on Saturday 9 May, from 11am-3pm. This event is a day when the church community welcomes everyone to a celebration of family life with music, games, stalls, the Teddies Zip Wire, barbecue, Tring Brewery’s bar, and tower tours.
In the evening, a concert in the church time? will be orchestrated by Richard Grylls and his singers to mark the finale of his many years of providing musical entertainment in support of so many important causes for the community.
FOTCH would love more people to join them and help turn their ideas into events and new ways of raising funds while having fun.
