Fun Palace Comes to the Forum

Living Magazines Fun Palace

Hemel Hempstead Library, in partnership with Dacorum Borough Council, will be joining the national campaign for culture and opening its doors as a Fun Palace on Saturday 5 October from 11am-3pm. It is a free event and there will be something for all to enjoy.

Fun Palaces promotes culture at the heart of community using a combination of arts, craft, science, tech, digital, heritage and sports activities, led by local people for local people, sharing their own passions and skills, as a catalyst for community-led transformation, with active participation for all ages.

This is the first Fun Palace held at the Library in the Forum. Activities this year include: photography, yoga, horticulture, sport demonstrations, arts and crafts, board games, mindfulness, an upholstery demonstration, and Spanish for children and more.

Eatlunch café will be serving drinks and snacks in The Forum, during the event.

Sarah Watt, Manager of Hemel Hempstead Library, said: ‘It is a great opportunity to help people find new interests and discover what their local library can offer.’

Julie Banks, Portfolio Holder for Community and Regulatory Services, said: ‘I’m delighted that the Fun Palace is being held in the Library here at the Forum. This free event brings the whole community together to share skills and offers free activities for all the family to enjoy.’
