Tring u3a’s annual Christmas social offers a chance for members and visitors to celebrate with a morning of live festive music.

On Thursday 11 December, at 10am in the Victoria Hall in Akeman Street, the u3a ukulele and singing for fun groups will demonstrate their talents.

Tring u3a is a friendly organisation providing Tring and surrounding village communities with opportunities to get together informally and share the wealth of knowledge gathered through experience.

Originally called University of the Third Age, u3a is a national organisation for those no longer in full-time employment. Its motto is ‘Learn, Laugh, Live’.

Formed in October 2007, Tring u3a boasts more than 30 active groups and more than 450 members. Groups are run by volunteer leaders and include painting, walking, ukulele, croquet, music appreciation, science and technology, singing for fun, patchwork, table tennis and more.

Monthly meetings at the Victoria Hall attract experienced guest speakers on topics as diverse as wildlife photography, professional gin-making, and The Beatles.

Regular coffee mornings provide additional social get-togethers with quizzes and book swaps.

The yearly subscription remains at £30 for 2026.
