Dacorum Borough Council’s fourth Dacorum Climate Action Network (Dacorum CAN) event, themed ‘Nature on the Brink’ is being held on Monday 10 March 2025 at The Forum, Hemel Hempstead.

Anyone who lives or works in Dacorum is welcome to register for a free ticket to the event, which will focus on four key subjects:

  • Biodiversity
  • Future-proofing our homes and communities
  • Sustainable travel
  • Food for the future

The event has limited spaces available, so register for your free ticket as soon as possible at www.ticketsource.co.uk/mayors-office-dacorum-borough-council/t-moxnmmz

Attendees will benefit from insightful talks by expert speakers, followed by breakout sessions designed to encourage discussion and gather valuable feedback on the Council’s Climate and Ecological Strategy.

An exhibition area will feature a variety of stalls led by local groups and the Council, providing an excellent opportunity to learn about ongoing initiatives addressing the Climate and Ecological Emergency in Dacorum.

For those who are unable to attend the event in person, the presentation and open discussion will be streamed online – the link will be made available on the Facebook event page on the night.

The event will run from 6.30-9.30pm, with doors opening at 6pm. A light buffet and refreshments will be provided.

Cllr Caroline Smith-Wright, Dacorum Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Transformation, said: ‘This event will provide a brilliant networking opportunity for residents and organisations who are enthusiastic about taking local action towards protecting our climate. I’m looking forward to sharing the exciting work we have been doing as part of our Climate and Ecological Strategy and discussing our next steps to empower and facilitate positive work through the Dacorum Climate Action Network.’
