Halloween Party Makes Welcome Return to Hemel Old Town

Hemel Old Town Halloween Party mad-science

The Hemel Old Town Halloween Party and firework display will be making a welcome return this year. The event will be taking place on Sunday 30 October 2022 and is being hosted by Dacorum Borough Council, in partnership with Community Action Dacorum and Hemel Old Town Market.

The event will run from 3pm-7pm, and will be followed by a spooktacular firework display in Gadebridge Park at 7.30pm.

There will be a range of entertainment on offer in the Old Town High Street, including fairground rides, fancy dress competitions, face painting and entertainment from Radio Dacorum.

A range of food and drink stalls will be available, together with a wide variety of arts, crafts and wellbeing stalls to explore.

The Old Town Hall will be hosting a range of activities – including the chance to have a close encounter with a variety of suitably creepy crawlies with Jungle Juniors, or learn something new with Mad Science, who will be running some special spooky science sessions. Both these activities will be free of charge, but spaces are limited so booking is strongly advised.

Tickets can be booked online, by phone or collected in person from the Old Town Hall Box Office. Full booking details are available on the Council’s website: www.dacorum.gov.uk/halloween.

Anna’s Funky Art will also be running free Halloween arts and crafts sessions in The Old Town Hall Gallery. There is no need to book these walk-in sessions.

Cllr Julie Banks, Portfolio Holder for Communities said: ‘I am delighted that the Halloween Party will be returning to our historic Old Town this year. Our partnership with Hemel Old Town Market has enabled us to offer something new, with a wide variety of arts and crafts stalls, as well as our traditional fancy dress competitions and after-party fireworks.  We are also hosting a range of activities in our beautiful Old Town Hall which sound great fun! I would like to thank our partners, and sponsors including Hemel Old Town Traders Association, Hemel Old Town Market and The Old Town Hall for supporting this event.’
