Halloween Spectacular at Chiltern Open Air Museum

Halloween Band at COAM

Families can step into a world of spooky surprises at Chiltern Open Air Museum’s Halloween Spectacular on Friday 30 October between 5pm and 9pm. As darkness falls, the museum’s historic buildings will be transformed with eerie lighting, spooky decorations and costumed characters creating a magical Halloween experience.

There will be fire performances, a juggling act, storytelling, magician, spooky horses, live music, bonfire, marshmallow toasting and plenty of opportunities to get creative with creepy crafts. It’s a great opportunity to explore the museum under the autumn night sky.

For those looking for a little more excitement, there will also be a scary woodland walk, where brave visitors aged 12 and over can venture into the darkness – but beware, there may be monsters lurking in the shadows.

Younger visitors and anyone who prefers their Halloween a little less frightening can enjoy a not-so-spooky walk, making the event suitable for the whole family. There are two entry times available, at 5pm and 6pm, with the evening continuing until 9pm.

A spokesperson for Chiltern Open Air Museum said: ‘Halloween is a wonderful opportunity to experience the museum in a completely different way. Our historic buildings, woodland and open spaces take on a magical atmosphere after dark, and we’ve packed the evening with activities for families to enjoy together – from storytelling and crafts to fire performances, music and marshmallow toasting. For those who enjoy a good scare, our 12+ woodland walk will add an extra dose of Halloween excitement!’

The Halloween Spectacular takes place at Chiltern Open Air Museum on Friday 30 October 2026, from 5pm to 9pm. Details and tickets at www.coam.org.uk/Halloween.
