Hemel Hempstead Employees Back Great British Spring Clean

Living Magazines BAM Construct UK litter pickers

Employees at BAM Construct UK Ltd in Hemel Hempstead have been busy litter picking the lanes surrounding Breakspear Park, where the company is based, as part of this year’s Great British Spring Clean campaign.

The team of ten employees covered the grounds of the business park, and both sides of Green Lane, up to the Green Man public house. Collectively the team gathered ten large bags of discarded rubbish from roads, paths, hedges and grass verges.

Beth Kidd, Community Engagement Coordinator of BAM Construct UK Ltd, said: ‘This is the first time we have participated in the annual Great British Spring Clean campaign and wanted to do it as part of our sustainability strategy. Our employees get two volunteering days a year so we are always looking at opportunities to put these days to good use.

‘Being able to clean up the surrounding environment for the benefit of the community was incredibly rewarding and we hope more people will pledge their support, and participate next year.’

Dina Mistry, Marketing Manager of Breakspear Park, commented: ‘We are so proud of BAM Construct’s employees for rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands dirty. They have made such a positive impact on the local surroundings, and we hope it inspires people to keep it clean.’
