Hertfordshire School ‘Exceptional’ says Good Schools Guide
‘We saw teachers, full of enthusiasm for their subject, delivering pacey lessons, helping each individual pupil achieve their very best. Dedication is not in doubt.’
So reads one of the many highlights in the January 2021 Good Schools Guide review of Abbot’s Hill School, an ISI rated ‘Excellent’ 3-16 girls’ school. Nestled in 76 acres of parkland but within 20 minutes of St Albans, Berkhamsted and Rickmansworth, the school’s setting allows its pupils the space to play and explore: whether up a tree, on the orienteering course or in A-Level bridging seminars.
Head, Kathryn Gorman said: ‘The review captures the unique essence of Abbot’s Hill. We are thrilled with the way Abbot’s Hill is described. This glowing testimonial is a reflection of the excellent, rounded education on offer at Abbot’s Hill.’
In February 2020, the Independent Schools Inspectorate confirmed that Abbot’s Hill is ‘Excellent in all areas’ while also boasting an OFSTED-rated Outstanding Day Nursery.
Reflecting on her first year as Head at Abbot’s Hill, Mrs Gorman remarked: ‘These highly-regarded reports are testament to the fact that Abbot’s Hill is an extraordinary school where ambition is high, where pastoral care is exceptional and where learning is a lot of fun.’
