Hospice launches new cycling challenge
Cyclists of all abilities are invited to saddle up for Ride: St Francis Sportive, a feel-good charity challenge taking place on Sunday 6 September 2026. This event offers three stunning routes designed to motivate your legs and lift your spirits, all while supporting the vital work of The Hospice of St Francis.
Riders can choose from the 25-mile Missenden Flyer (£40), 50-mile Marlow Expedition (£45), or the epic 75-mile Henley Endurance (£50), each promising beautiful scenery, fantastic atmosphere and an unforgettable finish line moment.
On the day, participants will enjoy fully mapped and marked routes, rest stops stocked with refreshments, medical assistance, mobile support vehicles, and encouragement from dedicated Ride Rangers. Every finisher will also receive a well-earned medal to celebrate their achievement.
The event starts and finishes at The Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted, with riders aged 18+ (or 16 with consent) invited to sign up in advance. Suggested sponsorship target is £78, which could fund three home visits by a specialist palliative care assistant. Parking is available for £5.
Every mile conquered helps the Hospice continue providing outstanding care for local families when they need it most – making this a ride that truly matters.
