Hospice Lottery Jackpot Winner Announced
Local long-time supporter of The Hospice Lottery, Mr Berry, thought Christmas had come early when he received a call to say that he had won the top prize of £2,500 in The Hospice Lottery’s Christmas Superdraw.
Mr Berry from Hazlemere knows first-hand about the wonderful care that hospices provide after they helped to care for both his Mother and Aunt.
Mr Berry said: ‘Looking at the future, we may all need hospice care and support at some stage in our lives and I wanted to help raise money for such a worthwhile cause, as well as put something back into the local community.’
Mr Berry plans to spend his winnings on making some home improvements to the bathroom, as well as some family days out including a celebration meal in January for his birthday.
The Hospice Lottery raises funds for five local hospice partners – Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, Michael Sobell Hospice, Rennie Grove Hospice Care, South Bucks Hospice and The Hospice of St Francis – and has distributed over £11 million to them to date.
The Hospice Lottery raises money via two seasonal Superdraws and a weekly draw. The weekly draw takes place every Friday and there is the chance to win a top prize of £1,000, plus: £200 rollover (can roll up to £10,000) £200 x 3, £20 x 30, £10 x 80.
