HVA Celebrates with 6th Annual Conference

Living Magazines HVA Annual Conference

Initiated in 2017 Herts Visual Arts popular January Members Conference is back for its 6th consecutive year, and the second which is completely online.

The year begins in the best possible way by focusing on ‘Your Art Journey’, with a programme specifically tailored to help Herts Visual Arts Members make 2022 a year in which art can flourish.

With 100 online places available on 17 January, it’s free for Members to attend. HVA strongly recommends taking part, especially if Members are new or haven’t attended a conference before, not least because the conference also features a number of guest speakers this year.

This highly interactive and participative event is a great opportunity for the HVA membership to come together, to support, and to inspire each other. In these times of change, they want to look at how we help each other develop our individual art journeys, create opportunities and build a better, more flexible, future for the creative community in Hertfordshire.

2021 was another unsettling year for many, so during the next twelve months HVA is continuing its mission to support all Members on their art journey. The focus this year is around 3 core themes: the benefits HVAF brings to the Membership, how to work with galleries and take part in exhibitions, plus developing a creative business through digital skills. It will include contributions and perspectives from Herts Visual Arts Members and confirmed guest speakers Elizabeth Murton (Curator & Programme Manager, School of Creative Arts, University of Hertfordshire) and Dawn Wills (Marketing Professional at Decisions Marketing).

The annual conference is a chance to connect, learn, inspire and get ready to embrace new opportunities ahead.  From presentations, shared video content, expert-led discussions, breakout rooms, chat, and online question/answer – there’s bound to be something for everyone. Full details, running order, and speakers are being finalised and will be confirmed closer to the day and published on the website.

‘2022 marks our 6th annual conference, where Members connect, support and have their say about how Herts Visual Arts continues to develop into the future,’ said Herts Visual Arts Chair, Sally Taylor, continuing: ‘It’s another example of the ways Herts Visual Arts aims to support Members’ art journeys. We want everyone to feel connected and supported, to grow digital skills, and to experience opportunities for wider visibility. Going virtual makes it easier for our Members to take part and even easier for our guest specialists to lead conference segments.’

Although the conference is for Members only, it’s easy to join Herts Visual Arts and take full advantage of all Member benefits including networking, events, and online Galleries. Membership for 2022/2023 is now open and artists can find out more/join here: https://www.hvaf.org.uk/artists.
